Vic: Double fatal in western suburbs smash
MELBOURNE, Dec 17 AAP - Two men died when their car veered off the road and slammed
into a tree in Melbourne's west overnight.
Police said the male passenger died at the scene of the accident at Grieve Parade, Altona North.
The male driver survived the crash and was taken to the Alfred Hospital where he died
a short time later.
The men are believed to have been travelling south along Grieve Parade, near Kororoit
Creek, about 1.30am (AEDT) today, when their car ran off the road and crashed into a tree.
The mens' names have not been released.
Their deaths take the state's road toll to 325, compared to 382 at the same time last year.
