NT: NT backs ACCC appointment but denies Timor Gas deal

DARWIN, Feb 28 AAP - The Northern Territory government today denied any deal was donein its decision to back Graeme Samuel as the new chief of the nation's consumer watchdog.
The NT government today officially backed Mr Samuel's appointment as the AustralianCompetition and Consumer Commission's new chairman, but denied reports its vote was tiedto the federal government's future ratification of the multi-billion dollar Timor SeaTreaty.
