NSW: Keneally denies govt did not do enough to stop bus strike
NSW Premier KRISTINA KENEALLY denies she didn't do enough to prevent bus drivers in
Sydney and Newcastle from walking off the job today.
She's told Macquarie Radio the government was working late into the night yesterday
to stop the strike .. making a last-minute offer of a three per cent rise backdated to
June 12 this year .. backed by a further three per cent rise from June 12 next year.
The opposition says Ms KENEALLY and the Labor government have been fighting amongst
themselves .. when they should have been dealing with this issue.
A 24-hour strike began from 4am (AEDT) .. causing 600 thousand commuters to make new
travel plans or stay home.
