IBM broadens ThinkPad Pentium line.

SOMERS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 4, 1995--IBM today added new Pentium(a) models to its award-winning line of ThinkPad(b) notebook computers.

Three multimedia ThinkPads -- 755CD, 755CDV and 755CV -- have been upgraded with 75MHz Pentium processors and faster built-in 28.8 kbps modems. The company now offers five Pentium-based ThinkPads.

"IBM offers an extensive line of Pentium-powered ThinkPads, ranging from reliable workhorse notebooks to our most advanced multimedia models," said Per Larsen, IBM's director of worldwide brand management for mobile computing. "Pentium power and faster communications make these award-winning 755 models the most desirable notebooks for presenting on the road, working in the office or just enjoying a video game with your children."

IBM's ThinkPad 755CD, 755CDV and 755CV are the most comprehensive multimedia notebooks available today. The 755CV and 755CDV feature IBM's unique "see-through screen" which doubles as an overhead projection panel when used atop a standard overhead projector.

The ThinkPad 755CD and 755CDV come standard with removable CD-ROM drives, game port and the unique capability to capture video and still photos from camcorders and other devices. All three notebook models feature color, active matrix, anti-glare screens; stereo speakers; simultaneous LCD and television set (NTSC and PAL formats) output; built-in digital answering machine and speakerphone; dual high-speed infrared ports; and TrackPoint(b) III -- IBM's widely acclaimed mouse-replacer that has spawned a host of imitators. The ThinkPad 755CDV even offers a wireless remote control.

The ThinkPad 755CD, ThinkPad 755CV and ThinkPad 755CDV are available today through IBM Business Partners and authorized resellers as well as the IBM PC Direct(1) catalog (800-772-2227).
